Moving Tips
Plan ahead as much as you can. Time is your friend, not your enemy
unless you procrastinate! Sort through all of your belongings and go ahead and have
that yard sale or call a charitable organization and donate the things you don’t
want or don’t use, because in the long run, it’s less you have to move! Organize
your things into categories of things you will need to store and things you will
need to get to right away, like socks, underwear and important papers and files.
Purchase boxes early to make sure you have enough of each size you might need. For
your convenience here are a few more moving tips to help you get started:

- Have plenty of boxes of all sizes available
- Make sure all boxes are properly labeled with the contents inside and the room it
was packed from
- Keep all valuable papers in a file box and know where they are at all times
- Contact all appropriate utilities well in advance to disconnect and connect services
- Notify the post office of an address change at least two weeks in advance
- Wrap breakable items in paper or bubble wrap for their protection
- Pack as many items as you can, such as electronics in their original boxes
- When loading the moving truck make sure you have plenty of protective blankets to
wrap your furniture with
